Saint James School mourning the loss of student killed in an accident

The Saint James School community are mourning the loss of a high school senior who passed away over the weekend.

School officials tell Action 8 News that senior Carter Carroll died in an unfortunate accident.

They are asking for prayers for the Carroll family and the entire Saint James community.

“Carter was a kind, funny, and engaging young man who lit up every room he was in and built up everyone around him,” said Dr. Larry McLemore, Head of School. “He was a person of strong character and a great student and athlete who loved his classmates and teammates immensely. While we are heartbroken, we can be uplifted by the outpouring of love and support, which is a true testament to the positive impact Carter made in his life. We deeply appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers as the Saint James family joins together in love for Carter’s family, our students, and our faculty.”

The school says it will have grief counselors on-site this week for those students and faculty who need them.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.
