More Rain And Storms Ahead
We’re now in the midst of a rainy weather pattern and it’s going to be sticking around for several days. We expect several rounds of rain to work through the area and rainfall could be heavy at times.
In the meantime, cloudy and rainy conditions are likely tonight. The clouds will help slow the cooling and overnight temps will only drop into the lower to mid 60s.. We’re expecting lower to mid 70s to return Thursday. Sixty degrees is the average high and we will be above that throughout the remainder of the week.
Precipitation chances will continue high through Saturday. There will be numerous rounds coming as several disturbances work across the area throughout the week. We expect thunderstorms to be imbedded in the rain at times. The Storm Prediction Center does have a marginal risk for severe storms over our area Thursday. The main threats will be damaging winds and maybe a brief tornado. Rainfall potential will be fairly significant with 2 to 4 inches and some spots a little higher tonight through Saturday.
Looks like we will see the parade of rain/storms come to an end late Saturday. The storms coming through could be strong to possibly severe Saturday. We will be monitoring this threat as well. A frontal system will sweep through Saturday night into early Sunday. This will set us up for drier conditions to return Sunday into early next week. High pressure will return and that should help keep us rainfree for a bit. Temps will drop slightly but high temps will hover near the average of 60 degrees.
