Not A Washout But There’s More Rain Over The Weekend

Our weekend will be trending drier for part of it but don’t put away the umbrella. Looks like another wave of rain and possibly t-storms will move through Sunday. It will be the last round before a cold front sweeps through here and brings back a winter chill to the area.

In the meantime, a frontal boundary slowly pushes into the area tonight. We expect a bit more rain and possibly storms to accompany the frontal system. Maybe a .25 to .50 rainfall potential lingers. The rain activity moves out overnight and that’s setting us up for a fairly decent Saturday. Partly sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s will feel rather nice. This should be your best day of the weekend weatherwise.

There’s another surge of moisture moving into the area Sunday. This system will produce more rain and possibly t-storms throughout the day. Rainfall potential will range between 1 to 1.5 inches. Clouds and rain will more than likely hold temps down and highs are only expected to reach the mid to upper 60s. A frontal boundary will push through the state Sunday night into Monday. This will open the gates for a blast of colder air to invade the deep south. The skies clear and temps drop with lows expected in the lower to mid 30s Tuesday morning. Frost is likely and you should hold off on putting those tender plants outside for the spring. It’s probably a good ideal to keep a winter coat handy as well. That start to next Tuesday morning is going to be rather chilly.
