South Alabama takes Down Alabama in Tuscaloosa
Alabama Baseball
The South Alabama Jaguars took down the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday Night 5-4.
The Tide got out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning. But, South Alabama’s Lucas Ismaili solo homered in the top of the 4th to get the Jaguars on the board. Joseph Sullivan was also able to homer in the top of the 5th to cut the deficit in half for the Jaguars. In the top of the 8th inning South Alabama was able to get out in front and then held off the Tide in the bottom of the 8th and 9th.
“Kade (Snell) gave us a great start. Jansen Kenty threw the ball well. (Coulson) Buchanan threw the ball well, and (Alton Davis II) was great there at the end. We had four two-out RBI in the third, which is good. But now we have a decision to make as we move forward. We have done really great things up to this point. We have also done some things inconsistently up to this point. A great team is one that can respond when things aren’t going well. We will have heck of an opportunity to do that on Friday night. It is our job to come out and prepare these next two days to take on the No. 1 team in the country and play one game at a time.”
The Crimson Tide will return to action on Friday for a three-game series with top ranked Arkansas.
