ACTION 8 UPDATE: Deputy Chief John Hall, who is Chief of Investigations for the Montgomery Police Department, has been named acting chief while Chief Darryl Albert is on administrative leave.

As Action 8 News has reported, the announcement that Albert was placed on administrative leave was made late Monday afternoon.

Mayor Steven Reed made the announcement but did not give a reason. Action 8 News was told that more details would be  announced when the matter is concluded.
