Contraband arrest made at Elmore Correctional Facility

The Alabama Department of Corrections says it has made a contraband arrest at the Elmore Correctional Facility.

ADOC says that at about 9:24PM Saturday, the K9 team at Staton prison nearby was alerted about a possible trespasser.

Investigators say they arrested Keante Jamal Shipp, who was taken to the Elmore County Jail and charged with trafficking marijuana, promoting prison contraband and criminal trespassing.

ADOC says the tracking dogs found several packages wrapped in duct tape.
