Safe from the Storm: Stay safe from lightning
Most people think of tornadoes and flooding as the most dangerous parts of severe storms, but lightning can be just as dangerous.
The good news is, lightning deaths have been trending downward in the past 20 years. There were roughly 50 lightning deaths in 2002 nationwide, but in recent years, that number has been below 20.
