Town of Pike Road seeking input on its comprehensive plan
The Town of Pike Road is seeking input on an update to its comprehensive plan.
At each meeting, representatives from the Planning Department will give a brief overview of the current plan, update the current standings of the area, then solicit input from residents.
Pike Road officials say the Comprehensive Plan is a long-term vision for the town’s future. The plan is used as a guide on issues such as future development, mobility projects, community facilities and infrastructure.
Each meeting will be held in a different location that is prominent to the town center that will be discussed that day.
Pike Road officials held the first meeting Monday night at Pike Road Town Hall with the focus on Mt. Meigs, Chantilly Parkway and Merry. If you missed it, here is the schedule for the rest of the meetings:
- July 16 – Chapel at the Waters, 1 Chapel Hill Street. Town Center Focus: The Waters, Waugh, North of I-85
- July 29 – Woodland Church, 4428 Wallahatchie Road. Town Center Focus: Cecil, Mathews, McDade & Outer Loop at Vaughn Road
- July 30 – Pike Road Agriculture, Recreation & Performing Arts Center, 6281 Trotman Road. Town Center Focus: Carter Hill/Hwy 231, Rolling Hills, & West of Woodley Road
- July 31 – Founders Station, 4902 Pike Road. Town Center Focus: Historic & Art Center
All of the community workshops run from 6-8PM.
The Town says public input from the workshops combined with previous input and analysis will be presented later this year.
