High School Football Preview: Prattville High School
Prattville football is coming off their first losing season since 2017. Now this year, they’re looking to turn things back around with senior leadership that knows Prattville Lions head coach J.B. Wallace well.
“These guys are night-and-day from how it was in the beginning,” Wallace said. “I’m excited about their leadership. I remember watching them as freshmen, and now one thing about them, they had players that weren’t scared to make plays through tough situations. Their guys always rose to the occasion. So I’m excited to see that on the field this year, as they lead the team.”
The now-seniors were freshmen when Wallace took over the program.
“The seniors, we have all been tight ever since freshman year,” senior defensive lineman Jhmari Reed said. “We never broke up, never had anybody transfer and everything. We all just been tight, as a family.”
Senior Quarterback Gavin Rigdon said the Prattville football team got even closer this offseason. He hopes it pays off on the field.
“I want to lead this team to a winning season,” Rigdon said, “and get us back into the playoffs.”
