Man dead after shooting at Southside HS homecoming tailgate

A murder investigation is underway in Dallas County — after a man is shot Friday night at Southside High School.

Waka Dcmurder1022 SotvoSheriff Mike Granthum says the shooting happened at around 11 o’clock — at a tail-gating event after the homecoming football game.

The victim has been identified as 32 year old Devante Hall of Birmingham.

Granthum says Hall and another man got into an verbal argument at the event. He says Hall was trying to leave — when the man pulled out a gun — and shot him.

“He went to school here in Dallas County and he has since moved to Birmingham. ” said Granthum.

“And he came back just to celebrate with some of his classmates. But he was in the process of leaving when this guy approached him and the next thing you know — by all witnesses account — they saw a red beam which leads to me it was a sight, a laser was put on him. And they saw a male subject drop down to one knee and start firing shots.”
