Troy University to close Phenix City campus

Troy University announced that it will close its Phenix City campus at the end of the year.

The Troy University Board of Trustees voted to cease operations on December 31, 2025.

Despite the closure, Troy University staff will continue to have a presence at Fort Benning in order to provide educational opportunities for soldiers based at that location.

Students enrolled at the Phenix City Campus will receive support to complete their degrees online or at other Troy University locations.

Additionally, the University will collaborate with state and local leaders to find a new occupant for the riverfront building.

Troy University has served the Phenix City and Columbus regions for 50 years, starting with a satellite office at Fort Benning in 1974, then opening a campus next to Chattahoochee Valley Community College in 1975. In 2015, Troy University’s Phenix City Campus moved to its current location.

Troy University will continue to operate satellite campuses in Dothan and Montgomery.
