Man dies in vehicle versus pedestrian accident
Opelika police say a man is dead following a vehicle versus pedestrian accident over the weekend.
The accident happened Sunday in the area of South 5th Street and Avenue A.
Once officers arrived, they found a 64-year-old male lying in the roadway.
The unidentified victim was flown to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA, for treatment of his injuries; however, police say the victim died from his injuries today.
Police say the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
