Fallen officers remembered in Montgomery
The Fraternal Order of Police is remembering fallen police officers at a ceremony in Montgomery.
The memorial service was held at the Alabama Capitol this afternoon, where these fallen officers and their families were remembered:
1. Jesse Robert Cooper – Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
2. Timothy Wayne Johns – Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office
3. John Randall McCrary – Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office
Each family, along with the sheriffs representing each officer’s county, placed a carnation on each officer’s FOP symbol.
Gov. Kay Ivey and Attorney General Steve Marshall were the keynote speakers and the Alabama Law Enforcement Memorial Pipes & Drums unit performed Amazing Grace for the processional.
The Alabama State FOP has been serving its members and their families for over 75 years.
