CAMPAIGN 2026: Cullman County Sheriff to run for Public Service Commission
Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry is running for the Republican nomination of Alabama’s Public Service Commission in 2026.
The life-long Cullman County native is eyeing for PSC, Place One seat, which is currently held by Commissioner Jeremy Oden.
A Marine veteran, Gentry was elected Sheriff of Cullman County in 2014.
Gentry announced in August 2025 that he will retire at the end of his current term, which ends in January 2027.
Gentry is married to Susie, and they have two sons, William and Walker. They also have three dogs and a herd of Longhorns.
The Alabama Republican Primary is scheduled to take place on May 19, 2026.
