Christmas on the Coosa in Wetumpka
It's a tradition that's been around since the 80's. And it's grown steadily since the beginning.
We are less than two weeks away from Christmas.
But Wetumpka’s already in the spirit, Saturday the city put on the annual Christmas on the Coosa. It’s a tradition that’s been around since the 80’s. And it’s grown steadily since the beginning.
This year there were more than 100 vendors and 100 floats in the parade.
Tiffany Robinson, Events Manager, Tourism Manager said, “Everybody likes to be a part of it and it is just a tradition here in Wetumpka.”
Marcia Walker, been to Christmas on the Coosa for 30+ years said, “This is our hometown, we live in Pelham now but we came back because we love our hometown and we love Christmas on the Coosa.”
Now that Christmas on the Coosa 2015 is almost in the books, planning for the 2016 event will start next week.
