Montgomery closing out 2025 with 61 homicides

Action 8 News has checked with the Montgomery Police Department on the number of homicides in 2025, and how the number compares with recent years.

There have been 61 homicides in 2025, according to Montgomery Police Lt. Tina McGriff.

That number is the same as the 61 homicides recorded in 2024.

In 2023, the city recorded 75 homicides. In 2022, the number was 62.

There were 77 homicides in Montgomery in 2021.
