Man arrested in Opelika home invasion
A man has been arrested in a home invasion in Opelika.
Police say around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 400 block of Jordan’s Gate Drive after dispatchers overhead yelling in the background on an open line.
Once they arrived, they found an armed man had entered the home, which was occupied by the homeowners and several others.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Mario Harrison, of Opelika, was taken into custody at the scene.
During the arrest, officers recovered two firearms from the suspect.
Harrison has been charged with first degree burglary.
He is currently in the Lee County Jail.
