Alabama State University fans can now get a newly-designed license plate from the Alabama Department of Revenue.

The new design, which became available January 1, features ASU’s bell tower along with other images.

The state says it can be used on private cars, pickup trucks (up to 12,000 pounds), motorcycles and RVs.

Registration fees associated with the purchase of this license plate range from $23 to $890, depending on the type of vehicle being registered.

Additional Fees are $50 for pre-numbered or a personalized plate.

The net proceeds are distributed to the general scholarship fund of ASU.  The fees represent a charitable contribution from the purchaser to the general scholarship fund of that institution.
