Luverne and Greenville Hospitals Purchased by Frey Medical Management

Rural hospitals are in danger of closing across the state due to lack of funding and support.Two Rural hospitals, Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne and Regional Medical Center in Greenville are no strangers to the financial strain. Crenshaw Community Hospital previously be came emergency only with Greenville making plans to follow suit.
Now, both hospitals in South Alabama are gaining new ownership which allows them to offer full services in the rural areas. 
According to the Alabama Hospital Association at least seven hospitals across the state have closed for good Since 2011. Frey Medical Management is now taking on the financial responsibility and well being of hospitals in both Crenshaw and Butler Counties to.
The goal is to create a rural Healthcare system which connects rural hospitals across Alabama a move that will give hospitals in rural areas the chance to learn and grow together and ultimately become more efficient and effective for patients.
 
Each area of the hospital will also be renovated to make patients feel more at home. These renovations will begin with Crenshaw Community Hospital as one of the first in the state to revert back from a critical access to a full service hospital. Upgrades to equipment, operating rooms and facilities will create a safe space for patients.
No completion date or budget has been released.
Crenshaw Community Hospital is also launching initiatives such as Health fairs, CPR classes, a youth center, volunteer ambassadors, music festivals, and a Sound Sobriety clinic slated to open later this year.
