Georgiana Graveyards and Burial Sites experiencing Theft and Vandalism

Georgiana Police are looking for those responsible for the vandalism of several grave sites in the town.

Several Georgiana graveyards and burial sites are struggling with cemetery theft and vandalism as families report missing sculptures, statues, flowers and expensive gravestone clips.
Authorities believe this is the work of several folks who come to the graveyard at night under the guise of visitation. They also believe a pickup truck is their means of transport as some of the precious possessions missing are items too heavy to be carried off on foot.
The city is now looking to increase the patrol of grave sites and installing cameras to help find those who are heartless enough to steal from the dead.
The Georgiana Police Department is asking anyone with information to call the Georgiana Police Department immediately at 334-376-2222.
