Sixth Annual Kite Festival Brings Multicultural Celebration to Montgomery
The Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership and the City of Montgomery are inviting the community to show off high-flying skills at the sixth annual Kite Festival on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at Blount Cultural Park.
Organizers say the festival will feature kites representing cultures from around the world. Attendees can also enjoy multicultural snacks, games and art activities throughout the afternoon.
Community members are encouraged to bring their own kites and participate in a kite contest for a chance to win grand prizes.
Mary Trawick and Sara Hsieh with the Alabama International Education and Economic Partnership spoke with Action 8’s Estee Morrison about how the annual event helps bring cultures together while celebrating the Lunar New Year.
