Alabama State falls to Alcorn State 77-65 in SWAC Basketball Tournament

Alabama State has fallen to Alcorn State 77-65 in the opening round of the SWAC Basketball Tournament.

The game was played at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.

ASU had four players score in double figures. Jerquarius Stanback had a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Micah Simpson added 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Tyler Mason chipped in as well with 12 points from the bench.

Stanback pulled down six offensive rebounds to lead the Alabama State offense which grabbed 14 boards and turned them into 20 second chance points.

Alabama State ends its season at 10-22 overall.
