Hornets name Dominique Wilkins as basketball GM
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA)- As the 2026-27 basketball season gets set to kick off, the Alabama State Hornets make the exciting announcement that Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins will become the program’s new General Manager.
Wilkins spent several years in the NBA, the majority of which were with the Atlanta Hawks, and was also a nine-time NBA All-Star.
With this next chapter in his career, Wilkins is excited for the opportunity to pour into the next generation of basketball players, helping them not only excel on the court, but also off the court as well.
The men’s team gets their season underway on Tuesday, November 3rd at Texas A&M, which the women get their season underway on Monday, November 2nd on the road at Auburn.
