MPS hosts community forum with Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery Public Schools hosted a community forum at Carver High School this evening.

MPS invited families, staff, and community members to attend and hear about the work MPS is doing for it’s students. Superintendent Dr. Zickeyous Byrd answered questions from parents and others on various different topics.

Discussions ranged from student equity, college readiness, academic integrity, transportation logistics, and student safety, among others.

“So, what I want parents to know is that we are truly listening and learning. As a matter of fact, our key initiatives, they were actually birthed from our listening and learning sessions. So, we just want our parents to feel confident that we are listening. We are using data to drive instruction, using data to drive our decision-making, so we are hoping that our parents are actually seeing that taking place right now,” said Superintendent of MPS, Dr. Zickeyous Byrd.

The next upcoming Q&A Forum will be at MPACT this Thursday, April 2nd, at 6:00 p.m.
