A wanted fugitive from justice on the run from authorities in Georgia is captured in Lowndes County.

Authorities with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office say 40 year old Ryan Morgan was arrested at a residence on River Road in Lowndesboro and taken into to custody without incident.

Lt. Ed Jones says Morgan is wanted by Georgia authorities on several charges including — drug possession — hit and run — and attempting to elude police.

“In the state of Georgia, law enforcement attempted to stop Mr. Morgan. Mr. Morgan led law enforcement officers on a high speed chase where he ran through school zones at a high rate of speed. He ran stop signs, also he crashed into several law enforcement patrol vehicles. He managed to get away at that time. He left the state of Georgia and headed to the state of Alabama.”

Morgan is being held in the John Hulett Detention Facility as he awaits extradition back to Georgia.
