Central Alabama Aging Consortium
Connecting with Central Alabama Aging Consortium (CAAC) programs can play a
meaningful role in supporting mental health and overall well-being. Opportunities like
congregate meal programs at one of our 19 senior centers provide more than just
nutritious meals—they create a sense of community, reduce isolation, and offer regular social interaction, which is vital for emotional health.
Programs such as Dementia Friendly Alabama hosts memory cafés offer a welcoming, supportive space for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers to connect, share experiences, and find encouragement. Additionally, accessing CAAC services can give caregivers the chance to take much-needed time for self-care and respite through our Alabama Cares Program.
Simply knowing these resources are available can ease stress, provide
reassurance during challenging times, and help individuals and families feel more
supported and less alone.
