Capital murder suspect makes appearance in Dallas Co. court

A capital murder suspect recently captured in Georgia — makes an appearance before a Dallas Co. judge.

Twenty-seven year old Deonte Olds entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment Tuesday afternoon.

Olds is charged with capital murder in the death of Joseph Goodwin. Goodwin was shot — and his car was set on fire — back in May of 2023.

U.S. Marshals caught Olds last month — after he had been on the run from authorities for three years.

Circuit Judge Marvin Wiggins set a preliminary hearing in the case for June 16th.

Olds is being held in the Perry Co. Detention Facility — without bond.
