Pay It Forward: Alice Smith of Wetumpka
Alice Smith of Wetumpka worked and retired from the Montgomery Community Action, which is known for providing services for the low income and impoverished community.
She learned a lot at the agency and is now inspiring others to give back as well.
“It is the God in me, and that is what Jesus wants us to do,” says Smith.
That is the main reason why Smith feels the need to give back.
“Being in her life mostly all of my life, just seeing how much she loves to give in the community, teaching her kids, grandkids, great-grands about giving. Every since I’ve known her, this is all she really wants to do is give,” says Cynthia Smoke, who nominated Smith.
We’re told Alice and her husband would give farm fresh produce to others.
Alice also volunteered during the holiday season at the Salvation Army, donating time and resources to those in need.
“That is what I try to do in my giving. And it don’t seem like I gave enough. I wish I had more to give,” says Smith.
That’s why Stewart Vance with the Vance Law Firm is paying it forward to her.
Alice teaches her kids and grandkids to give back as well.
Her advice — to have the love of Jesus and share it with others
“I just have to keep on sharing and keep on giving because someone always comes back blessing me like you all did,” says Smith.
She says wants to use her $333 to good things.
“Probably give it back, doing something for somebody. But I’m going through a little crisis in my life right now, it’s costing me a lot of money. So this is going to come in handy.”
Thank you Alice, for all you do to Pay It Forward
