Man Accused of Prattville Police Chase Identified, Charged

Multiple charges have been filed against the man accused of leading Prattville police on a car chase Friday.

Chief Mark Thompson says 54-year-old Weldon Roberts took off while police were conducting a traffic stop on the highway.

Thompson says during the chase, the driver hit another car, then came to a stop at Prattville Intermediate school. That’s where Roberts was arrested.

He’s charged with alluding police, hit and run, assault, and several other traffic offenses.
