ACTION 8 UPDATE: Third person sentenced in credit union ATM robbery in Prattville
PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WAKA) – A third person has been sentenced to federal prison in the 2024 robbery at a credit union ATM in Prattville.
U.S. Attorney Thomas Govan says 34-year-old Dominique Jeremiah Pearson of Spring, Texas, has been sentenced to 77 months in prison after pleading guilty to bank robbery. Upon completion of his prison term, Pearson will serve three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
Two others, 27-year-old Onarri Bond of Cedar Hill, Texas, and 35-year-old Xavier Rashad Ross of Houston, Texas, previously pleaded guilty to the same charge. Earlier this year, Bond was sentenced to 52 months, while Ross received a 72-month sentence, to run concurrently with a previous sentence for an earlier bank robbery conviction.
According to court documents and statements made, on December 13, 2024, the three men approached a credit union ATM while it was being serviced by technicians. The three used force to overpower the technicians, remove cash cassettes containing approximately $179,234, and fled. During the robbery, one technician was struck by a cassette as it was forcibly removed, and another technician was shoved by one of the defendants.
In addition to the prison sentences, the court ordered the three defendants to forfeit the proceeds stolen from the credit union.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
