ACTION 8 UPDATE: 18-year-old charged in Montgomery shooting death of 6-year-old girl

Montgomery, Ala. (WAKA) – An 18-year-old has been charged with three counts of capital murder in a shooting that killed a six-year-old girl in Montgomery.

Montgomery police say 18-year-old Malik Demetrius Millender is charged with killing six-year-old Caylee Taylor.

As Action 8 News has reported, the shooting happened at about 2:20AM this morning in the 400 block of Mulligan Drive, which is near North Burbank Drive not far from Atlanta Highway.

The little girl was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say she was asleep when she was struck from gunfire outside a home.

Millender is being held without bond.
