CAMPAIGN 2026 (WAKA) – The Associated Press has projected that U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer will win the Republican nomination for U.S. House District 6.

Palmer has represented District 6 since first winning the seat in 2014. He faced one challenger in the Republican primary, Case Dixon. As the race was called, Palmer had won around 86% of the vote.

There are four candidates in the Democratic primary for that seat.

District 6 includes Autauga County and part of Elmore County in our area, and stretches north to the Birmingham area.

A Democratic primary winner hasn’t yet been declared.
