Pay It Forward: Dovie Siaway
Dovie Siaway draws her inspiration from her mother, who worked with people living housing projects in Macon County. Dovie uses that experience to help others who need a helping hand.
Siaway works in the Coaching for Excellence in Employment program. The program is a partnership between the Family Guidance Center and the Department of Human Resources, serving all 67 counties.
“We are assisting families with getting off of government assistance,” says Siaway. “And so we do that through finding work opportunities that are higher paying, going back to school, helping them with getting their high school diplomas or going back to college, finding job training programs.”
Those who work with Dovie say she is always positive and dependable, going the extra mile in providing support to coaches and supervisors across the state and making sure clients are well taken care of.

“Dovie, if you go to her, and find assistance, she’s going to find a way,” says Thawaina King, her coworker. “Dovie is a servant leader. She leads by example. It’s not something that is going to tell you what to do, she leads by example.”
And her example is why Stewart vance is paying it forward to her.
Dovie is viewed as a role model and a trail blazer and pays it forward by using her own experiences to connect with clients.
“I remember when I was a coach, being able to provide a piece of my own story to those families, they were more willing to open up and receive the help that I was there offer for them,” says Siaway. “So, it has never been a burden for me at all.”
And she has a good idea of how she is going to use her $333.
“Probably do something for my daughter. She will be 2 in December, so I will buy a toy. A new bluey toy or miss Rachel toy for her, probably. Those are her favorites.”
