Higher rain chances through this weekend; Drier, still hot next week
Thursday was another hot September day across central and south Alabama, with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Rain coverage increased during the afternoon after a mainly dry Tuesday and Wednesday. However, showers and storms were mainly in far south Alabama initially. Although, rain remains possible further north Thursday evening. Our area likely trends drier Thursday night with lows in the mid 70s.
Rain chances remain higher Friday and this weekend. However, summer heat continues with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.
