Craig Field Airport & Industrial Authority announces new leadership

The Craig Field Airport and Industrial Authority in Selma has a new executive director.

The Board of Directors introduced James Thomas as the new executive director at a press conference Thursday afternoon.

Thomas spent the last 5 years serving in various positions at Montgomery Regional Airport.
He’s a Selma native — and a retired marine.

Thomas says his vision is to promote — strengthen — and expand — the existing aviation programs.

“I get a chance to actually do something positive for the city, and help Craig Field reach its full potential because it’s always had potential. And so, I want to see if I can come in and revitalize that,” said Thomas.

Air traffic control — aviation mechanics — and pilot training programs are all available at Craig Field.
