College football fans react to first release of playoff rankings
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Alabama fans might have a little something to smile about heading into another Saturday full of college football!
The first College Football Playoff rankings came out yesterday with Alabama coming in at No. 5. That’s four spots higher than their No. 9 ranking in the latest AP Top 25 College Football Poll.
This comes as a surprise some people, considering Alabama has already lost twice this season to two major SEC opponents: Georgia and Tennessee.
Action 8 News hit the streets to find out if fans think the Crimson Tide deserves that No. 5 spot.
“A lot more of our answers are going to be told this following weekend when all these teams like BYU and Utah play each other, and Ole Miss and Georgia,” said Bash Daood, an Alabama fan. “When Alabama and LSU get to play each other in Alabama‘s last tough game of the season, people will get their answers. ‘Do we deserve to be at the top five?’ I think we’re gonna prove that in Baton Rouge this Saturday.”
“I think they’ve had some tough losses,” said Derrick Cummings, a college football fan. “They’re playing some good football. The games they lost I think they where in those games and could have won those games. So, I think they deserve to be there.”
Alabama will face No. 15 LSU this Saturday, November 7th in Baton Rouge. Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm. CT.
