Tuesday Weather Update from Pike County

The skies are now clear in Troy. This is a much different scene than early this morning. Troy City and Pike County leaders all say they are very lucky that they have no damage to report.
Pike County residents saw heavy rain and thunderstorms out their windows between 3 and 5 this morning.
Pike Co. EMA Director Jeanna Barnes said, “The tornado warning was radar indicated we never had any reports of a tornado on the ground.”
Pike County emergency management crews worked through out the night and even though no major damage’s been reported, they say the threat is far from over.
Barnes said, “Well we know we’ve got more storms headed our way. So, we just want everyone in Pike County to know that we are not done with it yet. We always like to be prepared and practiced rather than under prepared and test.”
Lightening caused minor problems in Troy knocking out radio signals for some emergency crews and also power for about 15 customers in the city limits. But that’s now all back up and running.
