Tide football preps for first spring scrimmage
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (rolltide.com) – The University of Alabama football team worked a two-hour practice session in full pads on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields Monday afternoon as the second full week of practices got underway at the Capstone.
It was the Crimson Tide’s fifth practice of spring drills. Alabama will hold its first scrimmage of the spring Saturday, April 2, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium (closed to the public). The Tide will hold one more scrimmage following this Saturday’s before the 2016 A-Day game. The annual A-Day event is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, at 2 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game is once again free to the public and will be televised live on ESPN.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide football coaching staff is slated to host the 2016 Clinic of Champions from April 7-9 on The University of Alabama campus. The clinic features former Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl-winning head coach Tony Dungy, former Florida and South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier, former Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, former NFL general manager Bill Polian and current Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, who coached the Tide’s line for two seasons (2011-12).

Walk-up registration at the door begins at 5 p.m. CT on April 7 at Coleman Coliseum and can be paid with cash, school check or money order (no personal checks). The Clinic of Champions is open to coaches only. All coaches attending are asked to bring their coaches card for verification.
