Since August of last year after a tornado damaged Troy’s Walmart, employees have been hard at work getting everything back to normal.

Friday morning was the store’s grand reopening. City officials and Walmart associates gathered in the store for the occasion. Managers say they are ready to show off the store to customers. There are a few things to look forward to including better lighting and a revamped produce and electronic area. They say it’s their goal everyday to give customers a better shopping experience.

“Everyone that we employed was one hundred percent onboard as for as doing whatever it took to get the store back to where it needed to be so that we could open back up to our community. It was just so fulfilling after we were closed to hear our customers talk about how much they really appreciated Walmart,” says Co-Manager Cynthia Parker.

This weekend from 11 am until 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday, the store will offer food samplings and children activities to continue the grand reopening celebration.
