Pike County Salvation Army Host Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser
The Salvation Army in Troy is is making sure no one goes hungry.
It’s all part of their annual Empty Bowls Luncheon that feature unique clay bowls. Several people in the community including people at the Colley Senior Complex and Troy University made the bowls for the event. Every $20 ticket gets people attending the luncheon a handcrafted bowl to choose from and a chance to eat a variety of 18 soups.
“This day is a fun event, a different event and it all goes toward our food bank,” says Kim May, director of the Pike County Salvation Army.
Also featured at the Salvation Army’s Empty Bowl luncheon in Troy were bowls up for bid, made by local potters.
