Dozens of artists and chefs showcased their work at Southern Makers 2016 in downtown Montgomery.

The event gives talent from across the south a chance to share their unique work. This is the 4th year the event that draws hundreds of people.
It serves as a supporter of EAT South in Montgomery, an educational program that teaches children healthy eating habits and gardening.
“They really just go so well and so hand in hand because the farmers are really getting in there. They’re really working with their hands. They’re doing things organically and they’re teaching about what they do and what they love and so are all the makers,” says Denise Greene.
Ticket sales from Southern Makers go toward next year’s event. Coordinators say remaining money benefits EAT South in Montgomery.
