The economic picture in Dallas County continues to improve according to the Governors New and Expanding Industry Report.
Dallas County ranked in the top half of Alabama counties in job creation and capital investment in 2015.
EDA officials say one new company and expansion projects at six existing companies made for more than $63 million dollars in capital investment — and created about 300 jobs.
“We think its important because our people need to know that we have jobs here,” said EDA Executive Director Wayne Vardaman. “Eighty percent of the new growth, job growth in your community comes from existing industry.”
Vardaman says existing companies in the county have continued to expand in 20-16.
