Tyler Perry Speaks At Tuskegee University Commencement

Hundreds welcomed entertainer Tyler Perry to Tuskegee University Saturday to address graduates.
The commencement speech was the first for Perry. Administrators also presented him with an honorary doctorate. Students say it motivated them to work harder as they enter the work force. They say Tuskegee University has taught them many lessons to take beyond college. They also say purpose is the main element they took away from Perry’s speech.
“Know why you’re here and act upon it and impact others how you’ve been impacted,” says graduate Paige Riven.
The honorary doctorate presented to Perry is also a first for the entertainer.
