Effort Underway to Expand Top Rated Pre-K Program in Dallas Co.
Alabama is getting high marks when it comes to its Pre-K program.
The state’s first-class pre-k program is ranked number one in the nation for the 10th year in a row.
The Dallas County school system has three first-class pre-k classes in the district and is looking to add another.
School officials says the program helps pre-k students make the transition from home life into a school setting.
“It prepares our kids to go into kindergarten ready to learn,” said Superintendent Hattie Shelton.
Lawmakers increased funding to the state’s pre-k program during this past legislative session.
