Authorities Investigate Deadly Car Crash at Selma Racetrack

A deadly car crash at a racetrack in Selma — claims the life of a Montgomery man.

Authorities in Dallas Co. say Darren Bryant died on his way to the hospital Saturday night after an accident at Selma Motorsports Park.

They say Bryant was thrown from his vehicle when it overturned after crashing during a race.

They say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.

“We’re actually looking into several possibilities of what caused it any time anything is man-made, it can malfunction,” said Lt. Mike Granthum.

The owner of the track says the racing community is coming together to honor the victim and his family with a benefit ride Saturday, May 28th.
