Demopolis Police Host Youth Leadership Academy
Many children across the state are enjoying summer vacation but some are continuing to learn outside of the classroom.
More than a dozen kids in Demopolis are getting a lesson in leadership and teamwork at the 2nd Annual Demopolis Police Youth Leadership Academy.
Organizers say the academy is a way to invest in the city’s future by investing in its children today.
“We just want them to be aware of different things,” said police officer and academy instructor Tyrrenza Washington.
The academy trains kids in the areas of bullying, peer pressure, decision-making and teamwork.
