New and Improved Middle School Ready For Troy Students

Even with the end of summer, middle schoolers in Troy have a new school to look forward to.
Â
Construction took a year but the keys of the newly improved Charles Henderson Middle School have been turned over to the school system.Â
Â
Three of the old buildings remain, but they were completely redone.
Â
Included in the $7.5 million project was a new cafeteria, updated basketball court and large classrooms, just to name a few.Â
Â
Students spent last year sharing the high school.Â
Â
Principal Charles Henderson Middle School Aaron Brown III said, “It’s a super morale booster. When you look at what it adds to the morale of our teachers our students our parents, just the community as a whole. When you look at a brand new building. It’s almost like getting a new car.”
Â
On top of all the changes to the actual school, a new access road was added. That’s something parents can look forward to, because school leaders say it should cut down on traffic.Â
