Troy Board of Trustees Passes 2015 Budget

The Troy University Board of Trustees passes next year’s budget, but are still faced with the challenge of operating with less.Â
Â
The 2015’s approved budget of $225 million is down $4 million from the year before, and down $30 million from 2011.
Â
University leaders say some of that is because Troy’s state appropriations per student are the lowest in Alabama.Â
Â
Questions were raised about at what point will the university lose quality with all the cutting of the budget.Â
Â
They are anticipating flat enrollment for 2015, but say they’ve come up with a strategy to try to draw in more students.Â
Â
Some specific ideas presented to the board included upping the university’s presence in Mobile, hosting Christian music events, and recruiting from India and South America.Â
