Selma Man Behind Bars After Machete Attack

From the West Alabama Newsroom– A Selma man is behind bars — accused of attacking another man — with a machete.
Thirty-five year old Jesse Tremaine Andrews is charged with first degree assault. He turned himself in to authorities Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Andrews attacked and severely injured a man using a machete during an argument. They say the incident happened on the 100 block of Maxey Street in Selma.
“During the altercation Mr. Andrews pulled out a machete,” said Selma Police Detective Ray Blanks. “He used the machete in a chopping manner, chopping the subject across the head area.” He said the victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
Andrews is being held in the Dallas County Jail on 30-thousand dollars bond.
