Saturday Festival For Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center

You have a chance this weekend to give back to a center that helps some of our most vulnerable citizens- children that are victims of abuse.Â
Â
The Pike Regional Child Advocacy Center is hosting their summer festival this Saturday.Â
Â
The fundraiser’s open to the public from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.at the Troy Recreation Center, rain or shine.Â
Â
The $8 admission will cover a day full of games, face painting, seeing different characters and much more.Â
Â
That money goes towards the non profit that serves Pike, Bullock, Barbour and Coffee Counties.
Â
Executive Director Pike Regional Advocacy Center Camille Downing said, “Oh my goodness if you could see the little faces that come through here it would mean so much. So much. I mean it takes so little to put a smile on a child’s face. So I encourage everyone to come out and have a good time. At a low price. The price is only $8, it’s cheaper than DisneyLand or DisneyWorld and it’s a full day event.”
Â
The center does forensic interviews with abused children. They video tape so the child doesn’t have to repeat their story over and over again to lessen the trauma.Â
